Foundation Projects

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Foundation raises money every year for various conservation environmental projects that are deemed a priority by both the SVCF and Saugeen Conservation.

The following are projects, new initiatives and ongoing endeavours of the Saugeen Valley Conservation Foundation.

Greenock Trail Project

Development of a trail system in this, the single largest forested wetland in Southern Ontario. The proposed 7.4km trail will lead visitors through some of the richest habitats in and around this vast wetland.  Interpretive signage is also included, highlighting the colourful history of this unique complex.

We continue to raise money for this incredible initiative as this site becomes more popular!  At the present time, we are attempting to incorporate additional interpretive and directional signage to provide visitors with detailed information about this unique wetland.

Stay tuned for updates!

Conservation Area Improvements

Ongoing improvement at our Conservation Areas are a must, especially given the visitation numbers at all of our properties.  This could include boardwalk systems, improved signage, interpretive materials, bridges and crossings, etc.

Conservation Education Materials

The Foundation assists with the pruchase of materials for various conservation education programs which are offered by Saugeen Conservation throughout each year.

Saugeen Conservation offers over 50 different, hands-one conservation education programs to over 12,000 students.  All programs are curriculum related.

Donations received for this area, go towards the purchase of materials and equipment necessary for the programs.

Watershed Stewardship

The Foundation often assists with stewardship efforst that are initiated each year.  This can include tree planting, agricultural conservation programs and more!
